Internet Explorer has kept a podium position since its release in 1995 along side Windows95. In 1996-97 Netscape Navigator started gaining ground and after going open source in 1999 still lives in the spawning of Mozilla Firefox in 2004. Google took a piece of the browser pie with the release of Chrome in 2008 which has received widespread adoption due to the company's grandeur and reputation.
